Overview

Team Sanctuary is an entertainment production group that debuted during late 2012. It is a group run by me and a few friends. Team Sanctuary used to be a gaming clan until we decided to shift towards being an entertainment production group. In 2013, Team Sanctuary joined the Freedom family, a Youtube network partnership. Since then, Team Sanctuary has been producing video web series on Youtube. Video web series include product reviews, podcasts, comedy shorts, and gaming.

Role

As a co-founder and producer, I am responsible for producing content and hosting video web series on a weekly basis. Tasks include brainstorming, recording, post-production, and social media marketing (for various platforms).

Branding Strategy

In its first debut, Team Sanctuary was a gaming group. The branding only consisted of a simple, hand-drawn logo. At this time, Team Sanctuary didn't have a direction as a gaming group, but it had a vision of expanding its interest in game coverage and news.

In 2013, Team Sanctuary decided to shift towards being an entertainment production group. Because of this change, Team Sanctuary established its first re-branding strategy. The biggest challenge was determining what we did as a group. Play, listen, and entertain were words that described Team Sanctuary. Based on those descriptors, I updated the branding with new typography, iconography, and mission statement. At this time, Team Sanctuary was also renamed as TS Production which further expressed our change as a branding. From content creation to video production, Team Sanctuary's branding guidelines were altered as well. After the launch of the re-branding, Team Sanctuary began growing a following and an audience.

For two years, Team Sanctuary progressively gained new followers. The mission of producing high-quality content continued well into 2015. To celebrate the three years of success, Team Sanctuary went into another re-branding transformation. The re-branding strategy involved taking what we already had and refreshing it with a new feel. I incorporated a fun design based on several cartoon inspirations.

Prototypes

Deciding on an identity wasn't easy. Many logo designs were considered, but only one was chosen out of the three possibilities.
Can you guess which one?

Iconography

These icons were used in various media including video, thumbnails, and banner.

Opening Sequence

The video animation was used as an opening sequence on every media segment. These segments include podcasts and videos.

Special thanks to Pratik Parija. He assisted me in 3D modeling and animation of the opening sequence.
